ABOUT THE GROWTH ROOM

We are interested in what becomes possible when people understand themselves better.
The Growth Room is a reflective growth company focused on helping people develop the capacities to understand themselves more deeply and participate more intentionally in their own growth. Through reflective tools, thoughtfully designed experiences, coaching and development programmes, we create opportunities for people to look more closely at how they think, feel, respond, relate and choose — across life and work.
We are surrounded by encouragement to become more.
Improve. Achieve. Adapt. Perform. Grow.
There is no shortage of advice about what we should do differently.
But meaningful growth asks something else of us too:
Can we understand more clearly what is already happening?
The patterns we repeat.
The assumptions we make.
The emotions that influence our responses.
The ways we communicate and relate.
The choices we make — and why we make them.
The Growth Room was created around the belief that growth does not always need to begin with another instruction.
Sometimes it needs to begin with understanding.
Our role is not to tell people who they should become.
It is to create thoughtful ways for them to reflect, understand themselves more deeply and become increasingly capable of directing their own growth.
THE PERSON BEHIND THE GROWTH ROOM
Meet Hina.
Hina Javaid is the founder of The Growth Room and author of Still Space. Her work brings together more than a decade of professional experience across education and banking with an ongoing study of reflection, communication, leadership and human development.
Over the past 11 years, her work has placed her in organisations, learning environments and conversations with people navigating decisions, relationships, professional challenges and questions about how they want to grow.
Alongside her professional experience, Hina has continued to develop her practice through training in areas including leadership, communication, conflict management and reflective practice.
Founder statement
She has worked as a trainer and facilitator, with a particular interest in creating the questions and conversations that help people examine their thinking, recognise patterns and see their choices more clearly. Today, that work is developing through The Growth Room — bringing together reflective tools, experiences, coaching and organisational development.
“The more I worked with people, the less interested I became in having the answers for them. I became far more interested in what helps us understand ourselves well enough to find our own. The Growth Room grew from that question.”

WHERE IT BEGAN
Still Space
Still Space is the first tangible expression of The Growth Room's philosophy — not the boundary of what The Growth Room is becoming.
It began with a guided reflection journal: a physical space in which a thoughtful question, a pen and enough time could begin a meaningful conversation with oneself.
That idea now extends into Still Space Evenings, where reflection moves into a shared setting through thoughtfully facilitated conversation and individual moments of reflection.
Still Space remains an important part of The Growth Room ecosystem — and our first opportunity to learn what reflective practice can look like in different forms.

THE DIRECTION
Building for the capability that remains.
The Growth Room is at the beginning of a longer body of work. Over time, we intend to continue developing reflective publications and tools, signature experiences, coaching and development practices, organisational programmes and a continually researched and refined intellectual framework.
We want our work to travel across people, organisations, communities and geographies. But scale alone is not the measure that matters most. The deeper ambition is that people leave our work increasingly able to say:
I understand myself better.
I notice myself sooner.
I ask myself better questions.
I make some choices differently because of what I understand.
And I know how to continue working on my own growth.
The organisation becomes less visible in the outcome.
The capability remains with the person.
How we grow matters too.
As The Growth Room develops, there are principles we intend to protect.
Curious rather than dogmatic.
We remain willing to question and refine our own thinking.
Evidence-informed rather than trend-led.
We engage thoughtfully with relevant research while remaining clear about what is established, what we observe in practice and what remains under development.
Human rather than clinical.
Our work is centred on growth and development and does not position itself as therapy or mental-health treatment.
Reflective rather than prescriptive.
We create room for people to understand and choose rather than telling them who they should become.
Empowering rather than dependency-creating.
The longer-term aim is greater capacity for independent reflection and self-directed growth.
The Growth Room will not tell people who to become.
We want to help them become increasingly capable of deciding what comes next.
THE COMPANY
More than one room. One underlying intention.
The Growth Room is being developed as a platform for reflective growth — bringing together a growing body of thought, practice, tools and experiences around one central purpose: to strengthen people's capacity to understand themselves and participate more intentionally in their own development.
Reflective Tools
Journals and resources that support independent reflective practice.
Coaching & Development
One-to-one development through reflection, questioning and guided exploration.
Experiences
Thoughtfully facilitated opportunities for reflection within shared spaces and conversation.
Organisations
Learning and development experiences applying reflective practice to professional growth, communication, emotional intelligence and leadership.
Running beneath all of this is an ongoing commitment to research, practice and development — learning from relevant research, our work in practice, feedback and evaluation as The Growth Room's thinking continues to evolve.
There is room to grow.
And we believe understanding ourselves is a meaningful place to begin.
THE GROWTH ROOM
Reflect. Understand. Grow.
