COACHING & DEVELOPMENT
Sometimes it helps to think with someone.
Growth Room coaching creates a one-to-one space to look more closely at something you want to understand, navigate or develop — personally or professionally.
Through thoughtful questions, reflection and conversation, we examine what may be shaping the way you see a situation, consider perspectives that may not yet have been visible, and make room for you to decide what you want to carry forward.
The aim isn't to give you the answer. It's to help you understand enough to make more considered choices of your own.

THE STARTING POINT
You don't need a perfectly defined goal.
Sometimes you know exactly what you want to work through.
Sometimes you simply know that something deserves more thought.
You might bring in something like…
A reaction that surprised you.
Something affected you more strongly than you expected, and you'd like to understand what may have been underneath your response.
Something you want to say — but haven't.
A conversation, boundary, disagreement or point of view you want to approach more clearly.
A decision you keep returning to.
You've thought about it, reconsidered it, perhaps asked other people — and want enough room to hear your own thinking more clearly.
A pattern you've started to notice.
The situation changes, perhaps even the people change, but something about your response feels familiar.
The way you're showing up at work.
How you communicate, respond to feedback, handle conflict, make yourself heard, lead, collaborate or relate to others.
Something you simply want to understand better about yourself.
No crisis. No dramatic turning point. Just something that has become worth looking at more closely.
"Nothing has to be wrong for something to be worth working on."
Sometimes growth begins simply because we've noticed something — and become curious enough to look at it more closely.
HOW WE WORK
We don't begin with advice. We begin by looking more closely.
What you bring into the room becomes the starting point.
Rather than moving immediately towards a solution, we slow the conversation down enough to understand what is actually happening — what you are noticing, how you are interpreting it, what may be influencing your response and what else might be worth considering.
1) QUESTIONS THAT GO BENEATH THE FIRST ANSWER
Not to interrogate or overanalyse, but to help you examine what you think, assume, value or may not yet have considered.
2) REFLECTION ON WHAT YOU NOTICE
A reaction, repeated pattern, difficult conversation or decision can sometimes reveal something useful about how you think, communicate, relate or respond.
3) ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE
Sometimes understanding changes when we consider the situation from another angle — including how another person may be experiencing it.
4) MAKING SENSE OF WHAT EMERGES
The aim is not simply to have an interesting conversation. We consider what the reflection may mean for the situation, choice or area of development you brought into the room.
You bring the context. We examine it together. You decide what you carry forward.
A coaching conversation may lead to a different question, a clearer understanding, something you want to practise, a conversation you want to approach differently or a decision you feel more ready to make.
There is no requirement to leave every session with an action plan. But the reflection should be useful beyond the conversation itself.
LIFE & WORK
We don't become different people when we go to work.
The way we think, communicate, make decisions and relate to others often travels with us between different parts of life.
A conversation about confidence at work may lead us to notice how we respond to other people's opinions.
A difficult personal conversation may reveal something about how we handle disagreement more generally.
A professional decision may involve questions about values, priorities or what matters to us beyond a job title.
This is why Growth Room coaching can support both personal and professional development without pretending the two always fit into separate boxes.
PERSONALLY
Conversations may explore:
Communication and relationships
Boundaries and interpersonal patterns
Decisions and priorities
Recurring responses or behaviours
Values and what matters to you
How you want to approach a situation differently
Greater understanding of yourself
PROFESSIONALLY
Conversations may explore:
Communication and difficult conversations
Professional confidence and presence
Feedback and conflict
Career decisions and transitions
Workplace relationships
Leadership and interpersonal effectiveness
Decision-making and professional growth
Sometimes the conversation belongs clearly on one side.
Sometimes the two naturally meet.
The starting point isn't the category. It's what matters to you.

YOUR COACH
A thoughtful conversation needs someone who knows how to hold one.
Growth Room coaching is led by Hina Javaid, founder of The Growth Room and author of Still Space.
Hina brings more than a decade of professional experience across the education and banking sectors, alongside her work as a trainer and facilitator and continued learning in areas including leadership, communication, conflict management and reflective practice.
Her work with people has increasingly centred on the conversations beneath development — how we understand our responses, communicate through difficulty, examine the way we think and become more intentional about what we do with what we understand.
That perspective now informs her one-to-one work at The Growth Room.
Hina's role is not to decide what you should do. It is to listen carefully, ask useful questions, offer perspective where it may help and create enough structure for you to examine what matters more clearly.
BEGINNING THE CONVERSATION
Choose the amount of room you need.
Some things need one focused conversation.
Others are better explored with enough continuity to notice, reflect, try something differently and return to what you are learning.
Growth Room coaching is currently available in two formats.
Not sure which conversation makes sense? You don't need to decide before getting in touch. Tell us briefly what you would like to explore and we can consider the most appropriate starting point together.
Growth Room coaching is designed for personal and professional development. It is not therapy, counselling, psychological assessment or mental-health treatment. If what you need falls outside the scope of coaching, we believe it is important to seek support from an appropriately qualified professional.
ONE-TO-ONE REFLECTION SESSION
One focused conversation · 60 minutes
A standalone session for something specific you would like to think through more carefully.
This may suit you if you are bringing a decision, conversation, situation, question or something you have recently begun to notice and want dedicated room to explore.
THE GROWTH SERIES
Five one-to-one sessions
A series for something you would like to understand or develop with greater continuity.
Across five conversations, there is more room to notice patterns, revisit what emerges and consider how your understanding is showing up.
